PAST EVENT: Yom Hashoah video commemoration – April 20

Location:Video: April 20Time:7:00pm

Like many organisations across the country, the coronavirus is challenging how the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies can simultaneously fulfil its community commemoration obligations and respond responsibly to the public health crisis.
On April 20 at 7:00pm the Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance) commemoration video will go live HERE.
This will allow us to maintain our decades-long tradition of coming together as a community, albeit virtually, to remember those who perished in the Holocaust and honour the survivors.
The commemoration will include a brief keynote address by journalist Fiona Harari, author of ‘We Are Here: Stories from Australia’s Oldest Holocaust Survivors’, who will share what she learned from interviewing Holocaust survivors in Sydney and Melbourne.
As always, candle-lighting will be a part of the ceremony and we encourage viewers to participate by also lighting a candle – whether it be a Zachor candle, Yarzheit candle, tea candle or any candle you have in the home.
The video will be located at:
