Festivals and Fasts

Jewish festivals and fasts are designated as days of rest from school and work-related activities, according to Jewish law. Activities such as writing and travelling in motor vehicles are not permitted. Please note that holy days and Sabbath observance begin at sunset on the previous evening.  Many Jewish people will attend synagogue on these days.

For a complete listing of the Jewish festivals and fasts throughout the year, click on this link from the website of the NSW Jewish Board of Education, one of the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies’ constituent organisations.
